About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Commercial Construction Manager to lead our commercial construction division for a local environmental services organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction operations—from pre-construction planning and estimating to project delivery and closeout—ensuring quality, safety, and profitability. This is a strategic leadership role with direct oversight of project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow the commercial construction division for mid-size environmental and site development projects.

  • Oversee pre-construction planning including estimating, bidding, client proposals, budgeting, and contract review.

  • Direct project execution to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Develop and implement construction policies, procedures, and operational best practices.

  • Build and manage high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, and evaluating project managers and superintendents.

  • Collaborate with business development and estimating teams to pursue and win profitable work.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.

  • Forecast resource needs, equipment, labor, and materials across projects.

  • Serve as the primary executive liaison for clients, vendors, and internal leadership during project execution.

  • Analyze performance metrics, costs, and margins to drive operational improvements and profitability.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing commercial construction projects.

  • Experience in commercial environmental construction, site work, or civil construction preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of construction management practices, estimating, scheduling, and project cost controls.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project, or equivalent).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred.
