About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Commercial Construction Manager to lead our commercial construction division for a local environmental services organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction operations—from pre-construction planning and estimating to project delivery and closeout—ensuring quality, safety, and profitability. This is a strategic leadership role with direct oversight of project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and grow the commercial construction division for mid-size environmental and site development projects.
Oversee pre-construction planning including estimating, bidding, client proposals, budgeting, and contract review.
Direct project execution to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Develop and implement construction policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
Build and manage high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, and evaluating project managers and superintendents.
Collaborate with business development and estimating teams to pursue and win profitable work.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
Forecast resource needs, equipment, labor, and materials across projects.
Serve as the primary executive liaison for clients, vendors, and internal leadership during project execution.
Analyze performance metrics, costs, and margins to drive operational improvements and profitability.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing commercial construction projects.
Experience in commercial environmental construction, site work, or civil construction preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction management practices, estimating, scheduling, and project cost controls.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project, or equivalent).
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred.
